Content Usage Policy
Last updated: October 10th, 2025
This is how I feel regarding certain usages of my work. Also note the "Forbidden Usage Contexts" section towards the bottom of the page, as those apply to every potential medium.
If you have any additional questions about any of these things, please email me: treegravy[at]tuta[dot]com.
**NOTE: Night of Eternal Night's soundtrack is no longer going to be made by me. As a result, usage policies regarding the game's soundtrack may end up being different. I will update this page as is appropriate once the time comes.
Acceptable Usage Contexts
- Videos/Livestreams: Go for it. I also do not mind if you monetize videos/streams of the game. I only ask that you provide an easily accessible link to the game somewhere for your viewers.
- Using assets from the game itself (sprites, etc): I don't mind. Just say where you got them from.
- General creative fan content (fanart, edits, fanfic, fangames, OCs, yumeshipping, etc): I would cry my eyes out. I would be honored.
- Customizing profiles (avatars, usernames, etc): Same as above. Again, if you directly use assets from the game, please give credit.
Forbidden Usage Contexts
(Applicable to any and all potential media making use of my work.)
- Using my work for your own (commercial) branding
- Re-selling my work (more specifically, profiting off of non-transformative content involving my work; selling things such as prints of fanart, so long as you are the creator/have permission to redistribute said works, is acceptable)
- Using any elements of my work in child exploitative material (fictional children or not, that part doesn't matter.)
- Using any elements of my work in content that promotes hateful, harmful, and/or exploitative ideals, such as racism, xenophobia, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, paedophilia, zoophilia, and the like
- Using my work as part of training any generative AI algorithms
Regarding Adult Content
So long as it follows the rest of these guidelines, and so long as you're doing what you can to prevent unassuming passers-by from stumbling across it on accident, I'm fine with it existing. I personally don't go searching for adult content online in general anyways, so you don't need to feel embarrassed about the prospect of me potentially seeing it, if that matters to you.
Night of Eternal Night is being solo-developed by Ev Holloway (treegravy).
