Content usage policy
(last updated: Jul 26, 2026)
This is how I feel regarding certain usages of my work. Please also note the "Forbidden usage contexts" section on the lower half of this page. If you have any additional questions about any of these things, please email me: treegravy[at]tuta[dot]com.
**NOTE: These policies only apply to content within the game that I made myself. Usage policies may differ among things such as songs depending on the original creator.
✮ Acceptable usage contexts
- Videos and livestreams:
I also don't mind if you monetize these. But, especially if you do, please provide an easily accessible link to the game for your viewers as well. :)
- Using assets from the game itself (sprites, etc):
You are not allowed to monetize whatever you use the game assets in. With the exception of personal use, such as decorating profile pages, you must also clearly disclose that the assets are from Night of Eternal Night. (Please see the forbidden usage contexts for more information regarding using assets to decorate profiles.)
- General creative fan content (fanart, edits, fanfic, fangames, OCs, yumeshipping, etc):
I will cry from happiness.
- Fictionkin/fictives (iykyk):
I don't mind.
(I'm well aware that these are two different things, and that the formation of fictives is generally involuntary. I just am addressing them both at once due to their similarities and obscurity.)
✮ Forbidden usage contexts
Applicable to any and all potential media making use of my work. Do not send harassment to anyone in my name under ANY circumstances.
- Do not use any elements of my work to train generative AI algorithms.
Additionally, you are not allowed to use elements of my work in content that features other elements that were created with the use of generative AI.
"Generative AI" refers to things such as AI-generated writing, images, "artwork", code, et cetera; any AI system that generates something from having been fed other peoples' hard work to pull from illegally with no compensation or credit. If you are unsure of why I am so insistent on this, then I highly encourage you to spend some time researching the consequences of this technology on the livelihoods of human creators, as well as the heavy impact that this technology has on the environment.
- Do not use any elements of my work for commercial branding.
Using elements of my work on monetized profiles, such as a YouTube or Twitch profile under the Partner Program that does NOT represent a legally registered corporation, is permitted (with credit!)
- Do not attempt to profit off of any non-transformative content based upon my work.
This would include things such as selling merchandise that features assets from the game on it, reselling copies of my games, etc. Selling something such as a print of fanart or a song cover, so long as you are the creator of what you're selling or have permission from the creator to sell it, is permitted.
- Do not use any elements of my work in content that promotes hateful, harmful, and/or exploitative ideologies, such as racism, xenophobia, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, acephobia, antisemitism, paedophilia, zoophilia, and so on...
- Do not use any elements of my work in content that is clearly targeted towards young children.
Night of Eternal Night contains mature content which I personally would not consider to be appropriate for anyone under the age of 16. I do not want younger children ignorantly playing this game and becoming traumatized by its contents.
- Do not depict my characters as being in incestuous relationships with each other, such as shipping together the Goddess Twins.
✮ Regarding NSFW content
So long as it follows the rest of these guidelines, and you are doing everything that you reasonably can to keep said content secured within adult-only spaces, then I'm fine with this existing inherently. I won't go searching for it (nor do I go searching for NSFW content in general), so don't feel embarrassed by the idea of me seeing it.
