Planned Features

Night of Eternal Night's demo is planned for release on Windows and Linux operating systems via itch.io by December 2nd of 2025 (the end date of Yuri Game Jam 2025.) It will also be released onto Steam shortly afterwards. There is no specific planned date for its full release, but my current estimate is by Fall 2026. The full version of the game is also intended to have a MacOS version made available, but whether or not this version will be available upon release is unknown.

The demo is planned to feature:

The entirety of Scenario A: This consists of the game's main story campaign. I expect this will be ~3 hours in length.
Rogue Mode: Once you complete Scenario A, you can go back and replay it as a roguelike, with additional special features being added for increased variety between runs (including an extra-challenging secret boss...)
Nightmare Difficulty: A harder difficulty for Rogue Mode that will greatly increases enemy damage and add new attacks to bosses (NOTE: To get the demo out by the end of the jam, if it comes down to having to sacrifice any features for time's sake, Nightmare Difficulty will be the first thing to go; if this occurs, I will update the demo with it later)
★ Some basic achievements to earn, including a few challenges related to the boss fights
★ Lots of flavor text
★ Oodles and oodles of hand-drawn 2D artwork and animations, including many digital paintings
★ An original soundtrack composed of ~15 songs (for now...)
★ Yuri (of course)

Some of the many additional features planned for the full release are:

A minimum of 2 additional story campaigns: Scenario B and Scenario C, each featuring both new and returning characters (as well as their own versions of Rogue Mode.) Scenarios B and C will be available at no additional cost since they will come with the base game. Additional ones may or may not be free. I am making no claims as to one way or the other for now.
"PvP": A silly extra mode that opens up the whole battle grid to a free-for-all
★ Additional unlockable characters for Scenario A's Rogue Mode, as well as additional random events to be found within Rogue Mode (As of my plans right now, each Scenario will have 10 playable characters, with 5 being in the main story of the Scenario and the other 5 being unlockable after the Scenario has been completed)
★ Adding more depth to the changes made by Nightmare difficulty
★ Even more flavor text
★ Additional sprites for characters that change their expressions depending on the context of the battle
★ Unlockable costumes for characters
★ More items, enemies, skills, songs, achievements, et cetera...
★ More yuri (duh)

Night of Eternal Night is being solo-developed by Ev Holloway (treegravy).
